(houses on the countryside) are a fine way to experience Asturias . They are in abundance in the region called Concejo de Pilo , surrounding the town of Infiesto. Here you ll also find many recreation areas in which to trek or picnic, along with small mountain settlements that have restaurant, bars, and cider houses.
Picos de Europa
A day or week in these peaceful spots of Asturias can be as energetic or laid-back as you like. You can drive to the coast and stroll through the streets of the bustling fishing villages, go fishing, or simply find a quiet cove to relax in. Then there s the option of striking out on foot or on mountain bike along one of the many trails through the Picos de Europa .
Cangas de Onís
Another attraction is the valley of Congas de Onis which is centered around a medieval bridge. It sits besides the River Sella on one of the old pilgrimage routes and used to be the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Asturias . In proximity are a host of activities like river sports, fishing and kayaking. There s a walking trail along the river following the highway northwest. A bar and a restaurant are situated in the shadow of the bridge, right on the banks of the River Sella .
