The Cathedral
Plaza de Alfonso II el Casto. The famous Cathedral is situated in the capital of Asturias, Oviedo. Admiring the ornate carvings of the Cathedral is definitely worth an hour of your time. The holy chamber has some fine examples of sacred art, with a minimal admission charge. The town of Oviedo is an excellent example of 14th and 15th century Gothic style.

Museo Arqueologico
Calle San Vicente 5. Another must-see that is found in the capital. The Museo Arqueologico is a great place to learn about Asturias past. Its location used to be a convent and now houses ancient artifacts uncovered in the region. Admission is free of charge and the building alone is a sight to witness.
Santa Mar del Naranco
A grand palace overlooking Oviedo on Monte Naranco. A worthwhile trip if you d like to see a good example of pre-Romanesque architecture. The Palace has a colorful history and offers outstanding views of the town and mountains beyond.

Picos de Europa
The Picos is the first national park in Spain. Its peaks are a spectacular sight, dusted with immaculate snow. You can walk around the area and local hikers are often seen trekking the footpaths. Avid hikers and adventurous ones will surely find the Picos a treat.
