Camping Playa de Otur is a campsite situated in a beautiful rural area on the west shores of Costa Verde . From here you can appreciate the lush mountainous landscapes, the gently sloping green fields and the beautiful beaches of Asturias . The camping site is well taken care of -- quiet and comfort are a sure feature. Offered here are all the services you need to make your stay as relaxed and pleasant as possible. Camping Playa de Otur offers grass covered camping sites of up to 70 meters, with lots of shade and panoramic views of the sea. You can also opt to enjoy the comforts of renting out a completely furnished bungalow.
The campsite has free wireless internet around the café, and internet by the hour as well. Camping de Otur is just 500 meters from the magnificent Otur beach , and is easily accessible by car. Here you can surf and fish and enjoy other water sports. Barayo beach , which is a nature reserve for birds and Sabugo beach are also in proximity and are certainly worth the visit. The mountains and rural villages surrounding Otur offer fun opportunities for hiking, mountain trekking and cycling. For those that prefer to explore local culture and gastronomy, they will not be disappointed!
During the summer months, a number of nearby villages and towns have celebrations and 'fiestas' including the Descent of River Navia or the International Surf Championships in Tapia de Casariego . During the last week of August, Luarca, the capital of the municipality, pays homage to its patron saint San Timoteo, and during that week you can participate in the towns traditional events of live music, street markets, traditional food and of course only the best of cider. A highlight of the festival is an impressive display of fireworks. It s a celebration you must not miss!
Luarca is 4 miles from the campsite and here you can enjoy the superb Asturian gastronomy, explore its various interesting shops and perhaps try the local coffees, whilst overlooking the lovely harbor, dotted with bright colored boats. The local railway station FEVE and the local bus stop is about half a mile from the site. If you are driving, the Playa de Otur campsite is approximately 60 miles from the city of Oviedo , on the National road N-634.
The Playa de Otur campsite is open from Easter to October. During winter season and long weekends, it is by reservation. Caravan parking admitted.
